Whether you need basic Fire Awareness training, or need more specific Fire Warden/Marshal training, Midlands First Aid Training can provide a comprehensive course covering various aspects of fire safety. Our courses not only explain in detail how to deal with a fire, but also inform you about different types of fires and fire prevention methods. We also offer a course in load handling to teach you how to lift heavy items properly.

Fire Warden/Marshal course
(6 Hours)

This course is aimed at any person that has been allocated fire safety responsibilities in the prevention of fires and implementation of fire evacuations, should a fire occur.

The course comprises of a presentation covering:

  • Fire precautions legislation
  • Fire science
  • General fire prevention measures
  • Case studies
  • Actions to be taken in the event of a fire Evacuation procedures
  • Fire wardens responsibilities
  • Calling the fire brigade
  • Classes of fire and extinguishing methods
  • Basic fire precaution
  • Fire extinguishers

As with all of our training courses we believe the best way to learn is by involving the delegates throughout the course, this is achieved in this course with the use of case studies, quizzes and a practical fire extinguisher session.

Fire Awareness course
(3 Hours)

Aimed at all staff that may find a fire or evacuate your premises in the event of a fire.

The course consists of a presentation covering:

  • Introduction
  • Fire law (in brief)
  • The threat of Fire
  • Fire science
  • Fire behaviour
  • Fire action routines
  • Fire extinguisher types

As with all of our training courses we believe the best way to learn is by involving the

delegates throughout the course, this is achieved in this course with the use of case studies and quizzes

Load Handling course
(3 Hours)

Aim:

Raise employee awareness of manual handling issues and techniques

Objectives:

  • Definition of manual handling
  • Common injuries and activities which cause harm
  • Very brief overview of the manual handling regulations application of the principal and need for risk assessment
  • Methods of reducing manual handling injuries in the workplace
  • Awareness of good manual handling techniques
  • Role of manual handling risk assessments
  • Procedures for reporting any manual handling injuries
  • Provide practical examples of safe manual handling techniques across the range of the clients activities
